The dream of Elwood Curtis’s college is shattered next to a two -wool highway from Florida. Wearing an innocent wrong step, he is condemned to the lower world of the Nickel Academy, a brutal reformer immersed in Jim Crow South. He meets another section, seen on Turner. The two black teenagers cultivate an alliance: Turner distributes fundamental advice for survival, Elwood, clinging to his optimistic vision of the world. After all, the movement of expansion of civil rights, the existence of Elwood and Turner appear worlds away from the burnt speaker of Martin Luther King. Despite Nickel’s brutality, Elwood undertakes to hold back his humanity, waking up a new vision for Turner.
